It is the first conference for alumni of the U.S government exchange program Open World. The event was held with the direct support of the U.S embassy in Tajikistan in framework of the individual grants. It is gratifying to note that this grant reciever was Firuza Makhmudova, Deputy General director of the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan.
The welcoming speech was given by Mr. Ambassador John Mark Pommersheim. During the conference,the following topics were discussed: the role of alumni in the development of freedom of speech in Tajikistan, the role of alumni in social life of regions, the role of alumni in promoting the social inclusiveness.
In addition, alumni touched upon such issues as the necessity of creating the network of Open World alumni, the role of alumni in solving the problems of regions, joint projects, cooperation with local authorities. At the end of the conference, there was a musical performance of musical band “Three For Silver “.
